There are lots of places to visit and explore. Whether you want to stay close by, or travel further afield into Cornwall and neighbouring Devon, there is plenty to see and do.

Here are some things we thought you might like to know before you arrive. To save you printing this information off, it will be in your room as well (see Guest Information Folder in room).

Please contact us if you have any questions or specific requirements.

Location and working farm

Easily accessible along pretty country lanes, this ‘tucked away’ retreat affords guests real privacy. Enjoy seeing the farm animals from the comfort of your room or ask us if you would like to know more about the farm.

Relaxation

If you want to simply sit and take in the scenery or fall asleep over a good book beside the log burner in the cosy snug, the barn is your place. Alternatively, there are short or longer walks on the farm which take you into the heart of quiet countryside. For more serious walkers, it is easily possible to walk to the Otter Park in North Petherwin along public footpaths. For those who are especially creative, the land can be quite inspirational, so perhaps bring your notebooks / sketch pads?

The Coast

Visit local coastal villages such as Boscastle or Port Isaac and enjoy a quality ice-cream or an amble around the harbours. For surfers, Widemouth Bay is approx 11 miles away, and equipment can be hired at the beach. There are endless walks to literally take your breath away, as you survey the wonderful North Cornish Coast.

Gardens

We are ideally located between the stunning RHS Gardens at Rosemoor, Torrington, Devon and the National Trust Gardens at Cotehele and Lanhydrock, Cornwall. Then of course, there is the Eden Project, and the beautiful Heligan Gardens. There are other gardens nearby which are also well worth visiting, but may not be open all year round.

The Moors

If you love the Moors, again this is the place to stay with both Dartmoor National Park and Bodmin Moor being easily accessible. Exmoor National Park is also within reach for those planning to stay with us for a longer break. There are plenty of opportunities for those interested in Geo-cashing or Letter-boxing.
